Porsche is one of the co-owners/instructors at Shine Pilates. She has a huge passion for all things health and wellness.  After college she decided to become certified through Precision Nutrition for the nutrition side, and then after taking Pilates for the first time in 2018, fell in love with it so much so that she got her teacher certification and has been teaching at Shine since that time. Outside of the studio she is an accountant, and loves spending her spare time with her husband, two dogs, Mac and Mia, going on hikes, spending time at the lake, playing rec sports or anything outside. Acai bowls and Vinaigrette salads are high on her list of obsessions and she also dabbles in a little baking; protein cookies are on a regular rotation. She wants to meet you and looks forward to sharing her love for Pilates with every person that steps into the studio.

Tamara Schneider

CO-OWNER / INSTRUCTOR

Tamara Schneider is one of the co-owners/instructors of Shine Pilates.  She came to Pilates by way of a friend.  After her first class on the reformer she was hooked! She thought to herself, “This is the best exercise ever because you spend a lot of time lying down!”  Health and wellness have always been important to her.  She has always belonged to a gym, but after trying various forms of fitness including the boot camp style of workout, she felt like she was punishing her body. With Pilates, she feels like she is doing something good for her body. The mind-body connection is an idea that really speaks to her.  The past two years at Shine have brought her into a better physical and mental state. When asked if she wanted to help continue the Shine tradition, she jumped at the chance!  On the personal side of things, she is a native of Lexington, graduate of UK, and she has two college-aged sons and an adorable dog named Spencer.  She started a blog a few years ago with her best friend Leigh called Kentucky Taste Buds where they promote in-state tourism and all things “good” in KY, especially food! Together, they turned their podcast into a radio show, and you can listen to them on weekday mornings from 6-10am and Saturday's from 9am-3pm on KISS 96.9 FM. Tamara is looking forward to having you in class and meeting you in person!
